Standards and Associations

In show, cats are judged against a standard specific to their race.

The various cat associations have a standard of their own. The best known are the Cat Fancier Association (CFA), The International Cat Association (Tica), the International Feline Federation (Fife) and the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF). The standard of these four associations refer to the long feline world. They are available on the Internet.

In France, the law of January 6, 1999 decided to create a single source book for the French feline world. The creation of this unique book led to the adoption of uniform standards. The unit is managed by Loof. The Loof consulted various breed clubs and specialized judges to improve its standards. This is the standard version of 01/01/2007 LOOF reproduced here.
